New Captiva: Australia’s Top SUVs

March of 2011 saw the introduction of the new captiva into the Australian market with better performance and safety. The new captiva, introduced with several engine and transmission options, also includes new safety features. The new captiva includes the compact Captiva 5 with a few options and several options for the full size Captiva 7 models.

The compact new captiva 5 models include great performance in a choice of two engines, including a 2.4 litre, four cylinder petrol engine or a 2.2 litre, four cylinder turbo diesel engine. Transmission choices include a six speed manual transmission or a six speed automatic transmission. The new captiva 5 is small enough to fit into any parking situation when the space is limited, but big enough to carry supplies when you go on holiday. The new captiva 5 includes a multitude of safety features, including an electric parking brake, traction control, electronic stability control, rollover protection, six airbags, and front and rear parking assist. All this, and it looks great too, with the euro style bodywork.

The full size new captiva 7 includes three models with several options. The models include the SX, CX and the LX. All three come standard with the 2.4 litre petrol engine, with the option of choosing a 2.2 litre, four cylinder diesel engine. The CX and LX provide a choice of a 3.0L direct injection V6 petrol engine. The three models include a six speed automatic transmission. The SX comes with two wheel drive, while the CX and LX have all wheel drive. All models include safety features, including brake assist, descent control, traction control, airbags and more. Audio controls are located on the steering wheel for easy entertainment. Bluetooth streaming is another standard feature for all three models.

Each model, including the new captiva 5, have safety features, including remote keyless entry, engine immobiliser, rear lock doors for safety when driving with children, and an audible warning when the driver’s door opens or if the key is accidentally left in the ignition. Whichever new captiva model you choose, you can be sure you will love everything about it.
